Lockheed?Martin and the U.S. Department of War?Further Expand PrSM Production

Lockheed Martin is moving?swiftly?to accelerate delivery of critical munitions?with a signed with the Department of War (DoW) to rapidly increase production of Precision Strike Missile (PrSM). Under this new agreement, PrSM production?will quadruple, building on a previous contract award from the U.S. Army last year.

The Strategic Imperative ___

Lockheed Martin is providing a decisive edge to joint forces and mobilizing the full potential of tech to build the Arsenal of Freedom. While dramatically accelerating production of this critical munition and leveraging next-generation technologies, this supports the warfighter against adversaries.

Designed to succeed the legacy?Army Tactical Missile System?(ATACMS), PrSM delivers extended range, improved?lethality?and platform versatility. The system is enabled by?mission integration?and digital engineering across industry and government. In July 2025, the Army granted??for PrSM, signaling readiness for full production and deployment.??

Ramping Production and Increasing American Jobs ___

Lockheed Martin is well positioned to deliver on this ramp. Overall, there is 115,5000 square feet of production space for PrSM in Camden, Ark., and currently there are 400 employees who work on the program.

On March 4, confirmed that long-range PrSM was used in combat for the first time during Operation Epic Fury, marking the system’s operational debut and demonstrating expanded deep-strike capability.

Acquisition Transformation ___

To meet growing demand, Lockheed Martin was the first in the industry to announce a framework agreement for munitions acceleration under the DoW’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy, of the combat-proven PAC-3? Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptor and a second agreement to of?Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors.

Future Outlook and Next Steps ___

Lockheed Martin is planning a multibillion-dollar investment over the next three years to expand production and build and modernize more than 20 facilities in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts and Texas. This includes upgrading existing facilities and incorporating advanced manufacturing techniques, production lines, tooling and plant layouts to meet urgent production demand.
